Dudek grew up in Massachusetts and attended Northwestern University. Her first performance was as an actor as a character in The Iphigenia Cycle, a production at the university. It was staged off Broadway in New York City where she received the Joseph E. Calloway award for her outstanding performance. She was featured as one of the top ten emerging theater actors to follow by American Theater Magazine. Dudek was able to get the roles on TV and film.
